You could say that we are a little obsessed with all things Under the Sea over here at Crafty Kids at Home. Living by the sea has a huge influence over our activities and here is our latest creation, a cute cupcake liner jellyfish craft.
How to make a Cupcake Liner Jellyfish Craft
Supplies
- Blue cupcake liners
- Googly eyes
- Pipecleaners
- Paper
- Glue
- Black marker
Ahead of the activity
I cut the blue cupcake liners in half to use for the jellyfish body.
I also snipped the pipe-cleaners into small pieces to use for the jellyfish legs.
I sat down with my eldest son to do this activity. He celebrated his First Communion recently and he wanted to make a few Thank You cards for family and friends who had brought presents along to his party. He actually came up with this idea himself a few weeks ago, when we had been crafting with cupcake liners to make our Duck Craft. You might have seen it over on our Instagram feed?
- Paste glue over the back of the cupcake liner and stick it down onto a sheet of paper. We used blue paper so it looked like the jellyfish were swimming under the water.
- Attach the pipe-cleaner legs using glue or sticky tape. If you are struggling to get them to stay stuck on with just glue.
- Pop on a couple of googly eyes. We bought some coloured googly eyes recently, which came complete with eye lashes making our jellyfish craft look super cute.
- Finish the jellyfish off with a lovely wiggly smile using a black marker pen.
Liam then stuck his jellyfish onto the front of his Thank You Cards. They would work great for a preschool under the sea theme or for a quick and easy activity to do during the summer break.
