We all love to watch the fish swimming around in their tanks and all 3 of my kids love to get hands on with the different sea creatures in the touch pool. We always leave the Sea Life Centre feeling inspired to create some under the sea art and we created these cute paper plate crabs after a visit last summer.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>For more under the sea fun check out our <a href=\"https:\/\/craftykidsathome.com\/bubble-wrap-jellyfish\/\">Bubble wrap Jellyfish<\/a>.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>How to make a cute paper plate crab picture<\/h2>\n<p>You will need (for each crab):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00bd a Paper Plate<\/li>\n<li>8 Penne Pasta pieces<\/li>\n<li>2 Shell or Rigatoni Pasta pieces<\/li>\n<li>Sand<\/li>\n<li>Glue<\/li>\n<li>Paint<\/li>\n<li>Pipe cleaner<\/li>\n<li>2 x Googly Eyes<\/li>\n<li>Double sided sticky tape<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Here\u2019s what to do:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/craftykidsathome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/paper-plate-crab-collage.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3037\" src=\"https:\/\/craftykidsathome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/paper-plate-crab-collage.jpg\" alt=\"paper plate crab collage\" width=\"600\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/craftykidsathome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/paper-plate-crab-collage.jpg 600w, https:\/\/craftykidsathome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/paper-plate-crab-collage-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/craftykidsathome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/paper-plate-crab-collage-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/craftykidsathome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/paper-plate-crab-collage-45x45.jpg 45w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>1. Cut a paper plate in half and paint the top side.<br \/>\n2. Paint 8 penne pasta shapes to use for the legs.<br \/>\n3. Paint 2 rigatoni or shell pasta shapes to use for the claws.<br \/>\n4. Whilst they dry spread glue across the bottom of a piece of paper and sprinkle some sand over it. If you don\u2019t have sand you could use breakfast cereal.<br \/>\n5. Cut 2 pipe-cleaners in half.<br \/>\n6. Glue the painted paper plate onto your paper.<br \/>\n7. Attach the pasta legs using glue or double-sided sticky tape.<br \/>\n8. Attach a piece of pipecleaner either side of the plate for the arms and attach the pasta claws on again using glue or double-sided sticky tape.<br \/>\n9. Attach 2 pieces of pipecleaner at the top of the plate and add on 2 googly eyes.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Follow our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pinterest.com\/Multicraftmum\/under-the-sea-arts-and-crafts-ideas\/\" target=\"_blank\">Under the Sea<\/a> board on Pinterest<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The use of pasta and sand on this collage does make it pretty heavy, so make sure to use a strong piece of paper or thin card for your picture.
