My 7 year old son is mad about hedgehogs, so we have been enjoying lots of prickly fun at home. He has been online finding out lots of fun hedgehog facts to go into his <a href=\"https:\/\/craftykidsathome.com\/2015\/10\/nocturnal-animal-report-hedgehogs.html\">&#8220;Animal Report: Hedgehogs&#8221; <\/a>and I set up a simple Play dough Hedgehog activity for him to enjoy with his younger siblings after school.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/craftykidsathome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/hedgehog-playdough-600.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3809\" src=\"https:\/\/craftykidsathome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/hedgehog-playdough-600.jpg\" alt=\"hedgehog playdough\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" srcset=\"https:\/\/craftykidsathome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/hedgehog-playdough-600.jpg 600w, https:\/\/craftykidsathome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/hedgehog-playdough-600-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>How to make Play dough for your Hedgehog Activity<\/h2>\n<p>You will need:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 cups of flour<\/li>\n<li>1 cup of salt<\/li>\n<li>1 tbs oil<\/li>\n<li>approx 1 cup of warm water<\/li>\n<li>Cocoa powder or chocolate sauce<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We mixed together the ingredients needed for a batch of traditional no-bake play dough in our electric mixer. To give it a nice chocolate brown \u00a0hedgehog colour, we added in a few squirts of chocolate sauce that was lurking at the back of my baking supplies. If you don&#8217;t have any chocolate sauce then add in a tablespoon of cocoa powder instead.<\/p>\n<p><em>TIP &#8211; Gradually add in the water, as the amount you need can vary from batch to batch. Add it in until a nice stiff dough is formed and then either give it a further 3- 5 minutes in the mixer (using the dough hook) or knead by hand for at least 5 minutes.
