Over here at Crafty Kids at Home, we love to get our paints out. We\u00a0all regularly\u00a0sit down together to complete a themed painting project or just see where our brush strokes take us. It is simple to set up and there are so many different techniques to try out and\u00a0different painting tools\u00a0to use. We love to paint with brushes, sponges, q-tips, cars, marbles, dinosaurs, hands, feet, yarn and the list goes on and on.<\/p>\n<p>We do a lot of easy painting projects at home. And it is great to know that whilst they are painting, my kids are learning and developing in so many areas as well.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>They are exploring their own creativity, as they use and experiment with their own ideas as they paint.<\/li>\n<li>Fine motor skills are strengthened, as they grip and manipulate\u00a0different painting tools.<\/li>\n<li>Building self esteem. They\u00a0take pride in their work and gain instant\u00a0recognition for their efforts (there is no right or wrong way to paint).<\/li>\n<li>Developing strong sibling bonds, helping each other and praising each others work.<\/li>\n<li>Painting is\u00a0a\u00a0 great stress reliever. You are allowed to brush away your frustrations as you paint or even use your painting as a means to express your inner emotions.<\/li>\n<li>But most of all\u00a0it is FUN!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>10 Easy Painting Projects for Kids of all Ages<\/h2>\n<p>Sponge Painting is super simple to set up. I always make sure we have a packet of cheap\u00a0kitchen sponges\u00a0in our making supplies. Our most popular sponge painting activity to date\u00a0has been our\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/craftykidsathome.com\/2014\/07\/baa-baa-sponge-sheep.html\" target=\"_blank\">Baa Baa Sponge Sheep<\/a>\u00a0activity.<\/p>\n<p>We experimented with painting on bubble wrap to create this Esio Trot inspired <a href=\"https:\/\/craftykidsathome.com\/bubble-wrap-tortoise\/\" target=\"_blank\">Tortoise Craft.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>My middle son comes up with some of our best ideas. These <a href=\"https:\/\/craftykidsathome.com\/bubble-wrap-jellyfish\/\" target=\"_blank\">Bubble Wrap Jellyfish<\/a>\u00a0came from his own imagination (and is still our most popular kids activity to do date).<\/p>\n<p>We added a new twist to our favourite sponge painting activity, when we tried <a href=\"https:\/\/craftykidsathome.com\/tape-resist-sponge-painting\/\" target=\"_blank\">Tape Resist Sponge Painting<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/craftykidsathome.com\/what-pet-should-i-get-inspired-paper-plate-pets\/\" target=\"_blank\">Paper Plate Pets<\/a>\u00a0are so much easier to look after than the real thing.<\/p>\n<p>Painting can be used to teach new concepts in a fun way. We did this in our <a href=\"https:\/\/craftykidsathome.com\/2015\/11\/exploring-symmetry-with-art.html\" target=\"_blank\">Explore Symmetry with Art<\/a>\u00a0activity.<\/p>\n<p>Who can resist <a href=\"https:\/\/craftykidsathome.com\/2015\/03\/easter-splat-art-painting.html\" target=\"_blank\">Splat Painting<\/a>! Be warned &#8211; This did get very, very messy.<\/p>\n<p>We always have a stack of paper plates to hand.
