Say hello to Summer with our colourful Bubble Wrap Ice Cream Craft.

When the sun is shining and you are enjoying a trip to the beach or the park with your kids, there is nothing better to cool you down than a delicious ice-cream.

Unfortunately, ice-cream time on a trip out has become a little more tricky since our middle son was diagnosed as being Dairy Intolerant around a year ago. But we are starting to see more alternatives coming onto the market, which means that he doesn’t have to miss out on one of his favourite summer treats. We found an ice-cream stand recently that had a couple of soya ice-cream options, then there are fruit sorbets or a good old ice lolly to choose from as well.

All of my kids were able to enjoy making this ice-cream craft though using our favourite junk material bubble wrap, without fear of getting a tummy ache. They had fun sitting down together choosing their ice-cream flavours (well which coloured paint to use) and arguing over who was going to get the most scoops onto their cone. So it was pretty reminiscent of a real family trip to the ice-cream stand.

When we receive a parcel wrapped in bubble wrap, we always stash it away in our Making Box to use in one of our activities. It is ideal for adding a quirky texture to a craft and popping those bubbles throughout is a great way to keep everybody calm and relaxed.
