They enjoy the usual after school snacks of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sandwiches<\/li>\n<li>Crackers and cheese<\/li>\n<li>Bread sticks and hummus<\/li>\n<li>Fruit<\/li>\n<li>Crisps or popcorn<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>But as we head towards the end of the week and we maybe have a friend or two over to <a href=\"https:\/\/craftykidsathome.com\/2016\/04\/play-date-activities-jelly-play-dough.html\">on a play date<\/a>, then we like to add a fun element to our after school snack routine. \u00a0They still have to be healthy, but that doesn&#8217;t mean they can&#8217;t be fun as well.<\/p>\n<p>Our F<strong>un Fruit Kebabs\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0work perfectly balancing healthy fruit with a few marshmallow treats. Kids love to take control of building their own, making it easier on you and great for their fine motor skills, as they thread their fruit and treats onto their wooden skewers.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5813\" src=\"https:\/\/craftykidsathome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Fun-Fruit-Kebabs-2.jpg\" alt=\"Fun Fruit Kebabs \" width=\"600\" height=\"713\" srcset=\"https:\/\/craftykidsathome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Fun-Fruit-Kebabs-2.jpg 600w, https:\/\/craftykidsathome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Fun-Fruit-Kebabs-2-252x300.jpg 252w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Fun Fruit Kebabs<\/h2>\n<p><strong>You will need:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strawberries<\/li>\n<li>Bananas<\/li>\n<li>Marshmallows<\/li>\n<li>Wooden skewers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I laid out each of the elements in dishes alongside the wooden skewers and then invited the kids to make their own fruit kebab. The only rule was that they had to eat more fruit than marshmallows.<\/p>\n<p>On this particular occasion I had made a plate of ham sandwiches as well our fruit kebabs.
